A Little Bit About Me

Welcome! I’m grateful you’ve stumbled upon my website. My name is Bridget Horan (they/them) and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I graduated from Widener University’s sex therapy program with a Master of Social Work and a Master of Human Sexuality Education. My primary areas of expertise are trauma and sex therapy.

At this moment, I believe I do my best work when I get to approach therapy as a collaborative, creative venture. I value clients’ knowledge of their bodies, cultures, and patterns. I specialize in working within disabled, queer, and trans communities. Other areas of interest include sexual pain, sexual assault recovery, community violence, and medical trauma.

I am certified in prolonged exposure therapy, an evidence-based therapy that can be an incredibly powerful treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. I also utilize psychodynamic, relational, and internal family systems approaches. If those terms do not mean anything to you, that is fine! I think of my practice as highly personal, gently challenging, and framed around the idea that we all live within a unique context that influences our mental, physical, and spiritual ease or dis-ease. In session with me, we may draw, co-create metaphors, breathe, shake, or laugh as part of the healing work.

When I am not in the therapy space, you may find me crouched in the woods staring up at birds, telling stories with my friends, or sharing secrets with my dog.

If you are curious about working together, do not hesitate to reach out!
